“30 years of passion is translated
in quality and taste.
Making delicious dessert
biscuits and chocolates making:
that is our main mission“
More than 25 years of mastery: that’s something you can smell and taste. Founder Jan Verleye sticks to his roots and resolutely chooses quality. The pralines, chocolate products and dessert biscuits are of a high standard and show the great passion for his profession. Since 1993, the chocolatier-patissier has been building on what was once a child dream. Like many entrepreneurs, Jan started small. First from his basement, then from a slightly larger plant until, in 2014, he settled into a state-of-the-art factory in his hometown of Turnhout. Today he can count on his son Pieter, who helps to prepare the company for the future, in addition to a strong team of experienced professionals in different departments. A good working team that ensures the promise of quality is always kept. Because quality, you only get it through teamwork.
We define our products by three clear core values: mastery, flexibility and craft on an industrial scale. Every aspect of our business philosophy rests on these core values, ensuring the freshness and purity of our products at all times. Among other things, this way of working has allowed Verleye to differentiate itself.
We have outstanding expertise for producing our products. Our mastery translates into more than just making quality products. The Verleye team evolves and monitors every step of the process closely. This ensures that the expertise within the team remains up-to-date and the product always meets the highest process and IFS standards.
Within our mastery, we can handle different types of projects and work to suit our clients. This way, we are a flexible partner of our customer in terms of products as well as packaging and volume.
Craft is our focus, enhanced by an artisanal way of producing on a large scale. Our story starts from a passion for quality, and that passion for our products remains our driving force. We do not shy away from large volumes, guarantee accurate delivery and insist that the hand of the master always provides the “finishing touch” to give all our products an addictively delicious quality.
Verleye holds sustainability in high regard. We participate in the Voka Charter Sustainable Business to structurally improve our sustainability strategy. Raw materials and suppliers are selected based on various criteria. For example, we only work with cocoa that carries the UTZ label. In this way, we participate in Rainforest Alliance, a project that imposes clear conditions on growers for a sustainable cocoa harvest.
With UTZ-certified chocolate, which largely helps define Verleye’s quality, Verleye is responding to the growing demand for fair products. A sustainable choice that is part of a larger overall business.
Verleye’s production uses renewable energy. We generate our own green electricity using solar panels and, thanks to our renovated building, can work almost energy-neutral.
Finally, our employees are our greatest assets. We are building an inclusive environment where every individual plays their part. Our people are the most important links in our production. Not surprisingly, this is where we place a major focus.
